Fragmented Gaze

I have not had time to use it yet. This is a beautiful die which is a decent size and has a layered charm to it. I have all sorts of ideas for using it, and am hoping to have some time this weekend. I recently received paper with a variety of serpent skin pages. If you are an afficionado of Dr. Who you might be able to imagine my thoughts of using it to resemble the 'lizard lady'. I have also wondered how it would work/look as an applique over a hole in a pair of still-good jeans. The image on the die package itself suggests all sorts of colourways in using the die to make many 'personalities'. The chance to explore and come up with colour shadow techniques in building the up face have me looking into glossy, metallic and ordinary card and thinking about textures and lighting effects with that paper. Backgrounds could be anything - not just something resembling a wall, or a blob of colour. A circle of vellum could put her on a background in outer space, with the circle as a helmet, she could be set against tropical background or an engagement ring paper background I have.... This die looks exciting. It teases us past the usual natural skin tone thoughts to cultures, to people who exist in imagination. It challenges us past using good old 'Hello Friend' word dies. If you invest in this die, I hope that for you also, it is a catalyst to explore and not just add a 'pretty die' to a stash.
